Oops! A costly mistake

If you have sent an email to the wrong recipient, you might find solace in knowing that you are not alone. What's more, the fallout from the mistake reported by the Economist was definitely more serious than the consequences of your carelessness :-)


"Britain’s defence ministry is investigating a typing error that resulted in emails containing classified information being sent to Mali, a west African country that is a close ally of Russia. America’s army, which uses the domain name “.mil”, was the intended recipient, but the sender missed out the letter i. American officials have also sent millions of emails to Mali because of the same mistake." (The Economist, 28 July, 2023)
